I decided to start a publishing company because the large houses take forever even when they are willing to read your work.  The vanity presses are indeed "vain," and those companies that offer writers a chance to "self-publish" are often much too expensive.

The butterfly is our emblem for several reason, not the least of which is her ability to transform.  She starts out as an egg, transforms to larvae, then pupa and then she enters the cocoon as a caterpillar, a lowly creature, indeed.  She emerges, however, as a beautiful winged being that has been compared to the Sirens, and she is often thought of as the bearer of one's soul.  This process is called "metamorphosis," ergo, the name of our company.  According to Presley Love, "The butterfly is a symbol of the divine feminine...she teaches grace and tenderness and the awareness and energy of another way of being.  The purpose of the life of every butterfly is to set everything that was once known aside and to embrace an entire new way of being.  The butterfly guide{s} us on this journey of freedom." 1

The inaugural project for Morph Publishing is my own book, Sherrod Village.

We enjoy stories of achievement and triumph and we are particularly interested in women writers of fiction, non-fiction and poetry.
